My small obsessions lately

2023 has been… a lot. Honestly a year of just trying to grow and figure myself out. After that messy breakup in 2022, I’ve really had to focus on me again. It hasn’t been easy, but I feel like I’m finally learning how to slow down, take care of myself, and even be a little selfish without feeling guilty about it. Not sure if it’s changed who I am as a person, but I do feel lighter.
Writing it down like this makes me realise I’ve actually come a long way.
I’ve been so grateful for my community!!! My friends and my family. They’ve really held me up this year. My family even made more trips to Melbourne, and even if it was just for a short while, it meant a lot.
Some things I’ve been doing lately to keep busy (and sane):
Yoga + meditation !! Actually slowing down my brain and just breathing has been helping.
Crocheting. Okay this one is so random but also so cute. During one of my sad phases, my brother took me to Kmart and I saw this $10 crochet granny square kit. I said I wanted to try it and he just bought it for me. That tiny little kit literally pulled me into a new hobby. Now I crochet when I need to feel calm.
My progress 🤣
Work. As crazy as this sounds, I’ve been putting more energy into it, and it’s actually been nice. My students are the sweetest and my colleagues are genuinely the best people. They make me appreciate life in little ways.
Home stuff. I’ve been nesting hard every since becoming a property owner. Trying to save money and buying things one at a time. I also am obsessed with fixing up my garden, moving furniture around, even trying out different feng shui.
Making reels and content. This one has been so fun for me lately. Just creating little videos, sharing moments, and getting creative with it. It feels like a way of expressing myself without overthinking too much.
